- Kanban Principles, covered in chapter 2, expand on the six principles which form the foundation on which Kanban is based—Empirical Process Control, Iterative or Incremental Development, Collaborative Leadership, Value-based Prioritization, Self-organization, and Visualization or Transparency.
- Kanban Artifacts, Metrics, and Reports, covered in chapters 3 and 4, describe the artifacts, metrics, and reports that are essential for Kanban implementations—Kanban Workflow, Kanban Backlog, Kanban Board, Workflow Reports, Team Reports, Individual Performance Reports, etc.
- Kanban Processes, covered in chapters 6 through 8, include the fundamental Kanban processes and their associated inputs, tools, and outputs.
